Need A New Twitter App? Go to oneforty.

October 11, 2009 Leave a comment

The Twitter API is almost as popular as the Facebook App API, if not more. Of course, if you’re wondering whether to use Twitter app 1 or Twitter app 2, are you going to let the voice of the masses on Twitter decide, or are you going to let the voice of the masses of Twitter decide while you watch from the observatory that is oneforty?*

So what is oneforty? It breaks down to a reviews site where people review Twitter apps. There’s a number of categories to look under, plus if you’re signed in with OAuth, you can submit a review (plus a 1-to-5 star rating) or simply tweet that you checked it out.

It’s all a very interesting system, and considering the competition to get in the top ten apps**, I don’t think oneforty is going away anytime soon.

*In retrospect, that was a very awkward way to start the post.

**Say, I wonder why is constantly in the number one spot? Oh, that’s right, it’s used by every person on this planet that uses Twitter.

“Open-Source iTunes” doubleTwist Adds Amazonmp3 Support

October 11, 2009 2 comments

Unless you’re Justin, you probably hate iTunes, or at least have enough of a loathing that you would consider switching to another media player if it were good enough.* Well, doubleTwist may be the answer.

Basically, doubleTwist is like iTunes, except it loads faster, can sync to nearly any device on Earth, and, in a recent Mac-only** addition, it has a store powered by Amazonmp3. It looks and controls similarly to iTunes, except it’s, you know, open-source.

And before you even ask, Justin, no, it does not have AM radio support.

Edit: Oops, it appears I didn’t link to their official site. It’s here, in case you’re wondering.

*Random side-note alert–another great open-source media player that I whole-heartedly support is Songbird. I’ll be doing a full “spotlight” post on it sometime later this week.

** Though the Amazonmp3-powered store is currently Mac-only, they are (apparently) workign hard to roll out a Windows version.

Smiley;) is pretty creepy, no? Never heard of him? Go here: Smiley;) Blog.

Anyways, I just wanted to say we’re glad we have so many readers, but for right now, we won’t be posting for a while. We have things to do, so we haven’t really gotten around to posting a lot. Hopefully, we’ll be able to post again posting by Thanksgiving (near the end of November) and if not, then definitely by Christmas. So thanks for reading, and please stick with us. Bookmark if you have to, and we’ll have more genuinely exciting news in near future.

Oh yeah, Justin’s getting a PC. Hahahaha!
